The first man and woman, Adam and Eve our ancestors, sinned by eating the forbidden fruit: the knowledge of good and evil. And, like people today, they hid from God. The Lord came, seeking them (Gen.3:8).
When Adam and Eve hear the voice of the Lord walking in the garden, it is none other than the Son of God, Jesus, the Lord of Glory. His call leading to life instead of death; death brought on themselves by their own sin. God calls today with the same purpose in mind: to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). He called the treasurer of Ethiopia by placing an evangelist. Philip, in his company to explain the gospel while the Ethiopian was returning from Jerusalem. The Holy Spirit of God gave the Ethiopian an open and seeking mind. Upon hearing the truth, he confesses, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God” (Acts 8:37).
My prayer: May God grant the courage to us who know Him to confess Him before an unbelieving world.
