Two major requirements to get what you ask for in prayer are: 1 . Ask; 2. Be in fellowship with the Lord.
The Scriptures tell us, “…Ye have not because ye ask not” (James 4:2). The weapons of our warfare are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. One cannot overestimate the power of prayer. When we walk with the Lord, “whatsoever we we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight (1John 3:22). Much happens because believers pray. Much doesn’t happen because believers don’t pray.
To illustrate. Two friends continued their friendship for more than thirty years and after one of them became infirm. They spent days outdoors in camping trips. They played golf during the week. They and their wives attended church and church socials together weekly. Now, this is an interesting point. In all of their years not one of them asked another for something that was denied. Yes, they made many requests of each other, but always within knowledge of the others interest and ability.
As the Scripture says, “Can two walk together except they be agreed?”(Amos3:3). When we walk with the Lord, our interests are shared, and our requests are granted.
