Scientists work night and day to defeat this enemy, but it marches on. It was here before mankind. The Lord could not have spoken of it when He warned Adam of death as a consequence of disobedience if it were not already in existence. The Scripture tells us our Lord Jesus will reign until this last enemy, Death, is destroyed. But it will be finally destroyed by our conquering LORD. Thank God! For he must reign, till, at the close of His thousand year reign on earth (Rev. 20: 14-Rev. 21:4), He shall put all enemies under his feet. ” The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death” (1 Cor. 15-26).

In the meantime, we who know the Saviour have met and, for us, Christ has conquered this monster Death and as the special messenger Paul testifies, can of truth say, “I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Gal 2: 20).
